8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup jalapeno peppers, diced (fresh or pickled)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 package (about 14 oz) puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to a thin, even layer, about 1/8 inch thick.
Slice the puff pastry into strips, about 1 inch wide and 4-5 inches long.
Place a spoonful of the jalapeno filling at one end of each pastry strip and twist to form a spiral shape.
Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with the beaten egg.
If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the twists are p■ and golden brown.
